Just about there?

I’ve been playing in Tinker Cad with the location of size of 1mm spheres to print the LEGO hexagons back to back with my 3d printer. Looks like I got some good progress.

I tested 2 new layouts of dots and got some good results.

The left side was my first test. The number of small dots really helped get a better print, but because of the density of dots it was still hard to separate. On the right hand side, I reduced the number of dots and tried them in two sizes. The smaller dots that I could place closer to the edges did better than the larger dots, these are the bottom and two right sides in the right object). So the next step is to try the first print of two 3 hexagon back to back with the small dots and see if I can get two objects with good looking face sides that i can mount on a wall.

I was just thinking, because I’m printing the two items back to back, this means I cannot print stacked items that have the back wall that allows me to hang them on a wall. Not a big deal, I’ll print those one off as needed.

Before I go hog wild with all this, I really should figure out how many minifigs I’m going to be displaying.
